Planning your Colfax project

Start your wood finish with the condition.

For a Colfax deck or woodwork project, the most useful first step is a look at the existing coating. A worn penetrating stain and a peeling solid coating can require different preparation. Send an overall view and close-ups so we can discuss the work your surfaces may need.

List deck boards, rails, stair treads, posts, and other wood surfaces separately. Tell us if the goal is to keep the natural grain visible or move to a solid-color appearance. A finish recommendation follows the surface review rather than color choice alone.

What to send for an estimate

• The city or ZIP code and whether the property is occupied.
• Full views and close-ups of the surfaces, with approximate sizes.
• Known repairs, previous products, and preferred colors or finishes.
• Your target timing and any access requirements.
